Total retail sales of goods and services in Vietnam during the first half of the year posted year-on-year growth of 10.9 per cent to reach over VND3 quadrillion ($127 billion), figures from the General Statistics Office (GSO) show.

Retail sales of goods stood at VND2.3 quadrillion ($97 billion), a year-on-year increase of 9.3 per cent, with food and foodstuff growing 13.5 per cent and cultural and educational products 9.3 per cent.

Accommodation and food services earned revenue of VND321.7 trillion ($13.5 billion), up 18.7 per cent year-on-year.

Tourism revenue hit VND14.5 trillion ($611 million), for year-on-year growth of 65.9 per cent.
