Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed that the national target programs need focus on development of eco-agriculture and modern rural areas with civilized farmers, while promoting comprehensive, inclusive and sustainable poverty reduction in order to serve national development targets.
He made the direction while presiding over a national online conference on June 22 to review the national target programs on building new-style rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction.
The conference also looked into the movements titled “the whole nation joins hands to build new-style rural areas” and “for the poor - leaving no one behind” which had been launched for the 2021-2025 period.
The PM urged to focus on completing mechanisms with farmers placed at the center as main actors, agriculture being a driving force, and rural areas serving as a foundation of development.
The Government leader also stressed the need to develop strategic, green and sustainable infrastructure, develop human resources to adapt to the 4.0 Revolution and comprehensive integration, and diversify products, supply chains and markets.
