$214mln coastal road proposed for Van Phong Economic Zone

Thanh Thủy -

The 23-km road expected to help lure more investment for the EZ in south-central Khanh Hoa province.

The Transport Department of south-central Khanh Hoa province has proposed to invest in building a coastal road for Van Phong Economic Zone to help complete the province's northern coastal road network, contributing to boosting socio-economic development.

The proposed 23-km road requires an investment capital estimated at VND5.4 trillion ($214 million), which will be sourced from the central and provincial budgets.

Van Phong EZ is one among three key EZs of Khanh Hoa province with priorities in infrastructure development.

In March, 2023, a road connecting the National Highway No.1 to the Van Phong EZ opened to traffic, helping to attract more investment. The road was built at a total cost of nearly VND1 trillion ($39.78 million).

The provincial authorities have recently approved a project to upgrade the National Highway No.26B to link the Buon Ma Thuot-Khanh Hoa expressway with the Van Phong EZ.
