As part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum 2024 (ATF) in Laos, an awards ceremony for the ASEAN Tourism Awards 2024 was held on the evening of January 26 in the capital Vientiane, where 25 businesses and localities from Vietnam were honored in six different categories.

The categories included ASEAN Green Hotel; ASEAN Clean Tourism City; ASEAN MICE (Meeting Room category); ASEAN MICE (Exhibition Venue category); ASEAN MICE (Event Venue category); and ASEAN Sustainable Tourism.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the prestigious awards are testament to the effort, quality, and brands of localities and units in Vietnam’s tourism sector and reflect its strong recovery.

It also affirms the motto of the tourism sector: “Special products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized, friendly destinations”.

By diversifying tourism offerings such as eco-tourism, religious tourism, and medical tourism, the tourism sector not only creates more employment but also enhances the value of products and provides travelers with a variety of choice.

The awards are not just an opportunity for tourism businesses and local tourism organizations to effectively market their tourism operations, as it also contributes to promoting the tourism brand of each country.

ATF 2024 featured the message “Quality and Responsible Tourism - Sustainable ASEAN Future”, reflecting the determination of member countries to make ASEAN an attractive destination with world-leading products. Member countries also act responsibly together to help ASEAN’s tourism sector develop faster and more sustainably in the future.

Its tourism sector makes an important contribution to enhancing ASEAN’s position as a powerful, peaceful, and reliable region and becoming an important economic bloc in the world. The ASEAN Tourism Forum 2025 will be held in Malaysia from January 19-25, 2025.
