Vietnam had more than 28,400 workers going abroad to work in the first two months of 2023, a 20-fold increase compared with the same period of 2022, according to the Department of Overseas Labor at the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
Taiwan (China) was the top destination, with more than 14,600 workers, followed by Japan with 12,473.
The overseas labor market has recovered strongly, with the number of workers heading abroad reaching nearly the same level as before Covid-19.
More than 142,000 workers went abroad last year, 58.64 per cent higher than the annual target.
The target for this year is 110,000 workers going abroad.
