Nearly 3,000 enterprises had been established in north-central Thanh Hoa province in 2023 as of November 14, a year-on-year decline of 7.3 per cent, according to local authorities.
The figure is equal to 97.6 per cent of the annual target.
Total registered charter capital stood at over VND17.7 trillion ($737 million).
The new enterprises are mainly operating in the fields of retail, wholesale, automobile and motorbike repair, construction, and manufacturing and processing.
The province ranked first in the north-central region and eighth among Vietnam’s 63 cities and provinces in terms of newly-established enterprises.
There were 902 temporarily-suspended businesses registering to resume operations during the year, down 29.5 per cent year-on-year.
Over 1,240 businesses registered for a temporary suspension of operations last year, down 2.8 per cent compared to 2022.
