The Mekong Delta’s Tra Vinh province plans to build a coastal corridor with estimated investment capital of VND9.1 trillion ($375 million).
Over VND6.7 trillion ($276 million) will be in loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) while the remainder is earmarked from the provincial budget.
The road will have a total length of 60.7 km.
It forms part of what is known as the southwestern coastal route, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with seven Mekong Delta provinces, approved by the Prime Minister in September 2021.
Chairman of the Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee Le Van Han said construction will play an important role in boosting socio-economic development in the province and the Mekong Delta region as a whole.
