$60mln to be invested in upgrading Binh Thuan - Lam Dong highway link

The Department for Roads of Vietnam has submitted a feasibility study to the Ministry of Transport for approval of a project to upgrade and improve National Highway No. 28B between south-central Binh Thuan province and the central highlands’ Lam Dong province.

Total investment is estimated at VND1.435 trillion ($60.3 million), of which nearly VND1.3 trillion ($54.6 million) will be mobilized from the mid-term public investment plan in the 2021-2025 period.

Construction is estimated to cost over VND1.1 trillion ($46.2 million), with the remaining capital going to site clearance and compensation.

The 68-km link will allow a maximum speed of 80km/h.

Work is scheduled for the 2023-2026 period.

National Highway No. 28B is an important transport route for Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces, and connects with National Highway No. 1, the Eastern North-South Expressway, and National Highway No. 20.
