$78.9-mln waste-to-energy plant to be built in Da Nang

The People’s Committee of central Da Nang city has approved the adjustment of the waste-to-energy plant at Khanh Son landfill in Lien Chieu district.

The plant, covering over 93,800 sq m, will have total estimated investment capital of over VND2 trillion ($78.9 million).

It will have a designed capacity of burning 650 tons of solid waste per day; classify and burn 350 tons of common industrial waste per day; and produce 7,068 liters of finished petroleum oil (PO) per day or 11.78 liters of PO per ton of waste.

The plant will also produce 900 kg of finished recycled oil (RO) per day.

 Its electricity generation capacity is estimated at 18 MW.

Da Nang is also calling for investors to build a household solid waste treatment plant with a capacity of 1,000 tons per day.
