These two projects, together with AEON Da Nang Thanh Khe and AEON Hai Duong (in Hai Phong City), form part of the groups plan to launch four shopping centers in 2026.

Speaking at a press conference on September 11, Mr. Isobe Daisuke, General Director of AEONMALL Vietnam Co., Ltd., noted that Vietnam is one of AEON MALL’s key markets in Southeast Asia. The company will continue expanding its shopping center network in Vietnam while focusing on developing each mall to align with local characteristics and demands.

AEON is executing its expansion strategy through a multi-format approach, ranging from large-scale shopping malls, general merchandise stores, and supermarkets to medium-sized formats and compact supermarkets. Through this strategy, the group aims to broaden its presence across major urban areas, regional hub cities, and suburban districts.

Mr. Tezuka Daisuke, Chief Vietnam Business Officer of AEON group and General Director of AEON Vietnam, stated that following Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, AEON is expanding into provinces and cities characterized by modern lifestyles, such as Hai Phong, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, and Quang Ninh.

Since entering the Vietnamese market with AEON Tan Phu Celadon Shopping Center in 2014, AEON has gradually expanded its footprint and diversified its business models.

As of August 2026, AEON Group companies operating in Vietnam manage nine shopping centers, 16 general merchandise stores and supermarkets, 40 supermarkets, 182 MINISTOP convenience stores, 71 specialty and service stores, along with two pharmacies.

Under its mid-term business plan for the 2026-2030 period, AEON aims to triple its business scale by 2030 and expand its nationwide network to 300 stores.
