AEON Thanh Hoa and AEON Ha Long are scheduled to open in October and November 2026, respectively, marking two of four shopping centers the retail giant plans to put into operation this year.

Vietnam currently boasts 1,080 supermarkets, 240 shopping centers, 8,500 traditional markets, thousands of convenience stores, and some 2.2 million individual business households.

General Statistics Office believes such stimulus would help make retail a significant driving force in national economic growth.

The rental retail segment is quite active thanks to the expansion of several international brands in the fashion, sports, and food service industries. According to the General Statistic Office, total retail and service revenue in the first half of 2022 reached $117 billion, up 27.3 per cent over the same period last year.
