Airports around Vietnam welcomed 19.7 million passengers in the first two months of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 91.5 per cent, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
The figure includes 4.7 million international arrivals, up nearly 2,000 per cent year-on-year, and 14.8 million domestic travelers, up 48 per cent.
Total cargo transported stood at 168,000 tons, down 28.2 per cent year-on-year.
Airlines conducted 78,800 flights in January and February, an increase of 62.3 per cent.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has forecast that Vietnam’s air transport market will carry nearly 80 million passengers and 1.44 million tons of cargo in 2023, year-on-year increases of 45.4 per cent and 15 per cent, respectively.
