The total number of air passengers in January stood at about 10 million, a 13.8 per cent increase against December, according to Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
International arrivals were estimated at 2.3 million, a month-on-month rise of 10 per cent.
Transport during the peak Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday saw strong growth compared to the same period last year and prior to Covid-19. Nearly 21,000 flights were conducted from Tan Son Nhat International Airport during the week-long holiday, with 3.1 million passengers, year-on-year increases of 26.5 per cent and 61 per cent, respectively.
The total volume of air cargo transported in the first month of the year hit 112,000 tons, up 11.6 per cent compared to December.
