Among major aerospace companies, Airbus will participate in the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 (VIDEX 2024) held in Hanoi on December 19 - 22.
Sharing at the press conference on the event, held on December 18 in the capital city, Ms. Hoang Tri Mai, Managing Director of Airbus in Vietnam, said that one of the most notable products of this company at the VIDEX 2024 is the C295 aircraft. This is a line of medium-class tactical transport aircraft with high flexibility, which has been demonstrating its quality and capacity in military transport missions, medical emergency and air logistics.
Airbus also plays a key role in developing the C295's operational and maintenance capabilities domestically, helping to improve mission readiness and reduce external dependence. "This cooperation helps maintain stability and safety for C295 fleet operations, enhance rapid response capabilities and thereby strengthen Vietnam’s long-term military objectives," Ms. Tri Mai added.
Mr. Thomas Zeman, Head of Sales & Marketing Asia Pacific at Airbus Helicopters, also affirmed that Airbus is ready to cooperate with Vietnam to develop the C295 fleet and other versions, such as maritime surveillance, to enhance Vietnam's air transport capabilities as well as intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
In the field of aerospace technology, Airbus is strengthening its commitment to strategic cooperation with Vietnam. "At the VIDEX 2024, Airbus will strive to expand its cooperation with partners in Vietnam, focusing on developing and enhancing Vietnam's capabilities in space technology applications," said Mr. Zeman.
Mr. Zakir Hamid, Head of Airbus Defence and Space, APAC, said that the competitive market landscape is pushing Airbus to invest more in new technologies, product innovation, and deeper collaboration with local partners.
"Airbus is actively applying emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning to its products and solutions, especially in the fields of defense, space and commercial aviation," Mr. Hamid added. "Airbus not only delivers high-quality products, but also focuses on developing advanced, environmentally friendly and highly applicable technologies to meet the most stringent requirements in the defense sector, while supporting partners like Vietnam to achieve national strategic goals."
In general, Ms. Tri Mai affirmed that the partnership between Airbus and Vietnam has expanded in areas including commercial aircraft, defense and helicopters. "Airbus will provide advanced solutions and technologies to improve aircraft operational capabilities, stabilize the regional situation and achieve long-term security goals," she added. "Airbus has strategic advantages to accompany Vietnam in the process of defense modernization, providing advanced solutions and technologies to improve aircraft operation capacity, stabilize the regional situation and realize long-term security goals.Airbus is also committed to supporting Vietnam's defense modernization goals until 2030."
