An Giang plans to build 6,300 social houses by 2030

The Mekong Delta’s An Giang province plans to build 6,300 social houses by 2030 under the provincial master plan on social housing development.

The plan was freshly issued by the provincial People’s Committee as part  of the Government program to build at least 1 million houses for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks nationwide.

Total capital needed for building social houses in An Giang is estimated at VND1.930 trillion ($75.8 million) during the 2021-2025 periods and over VND3.22 trillion ($126.5 million) during 2026-2030 periods.

The province has implemented 4 social housing projects since 2021, which will supply 5,290 apartments.

Of which, one project was completed with 392 units. The three others are still under construction and will supply 4,898 units upon completion.

Housing demand by workers at industrial parks in the province has kept increasing.

The province has two industrial parks with over 21,000 workers.

An Giang plans to build one more industrial park by 2030, raising the total number of workers to over 34,700.
