Aviation security violations on the rise

The Ministry of Transport has reported that 680 cases of aviation security violations were detected in 2022, nearly double the figure in 2021.

Many localities said violations such as pointing lasers at aircraft and operating unauthorized taxis at airports were still common, as were smuggling, transporting, storing, and using weapons and explosives. Authorized agencies discovered and handled 68 cases, arresting 128 people.

Speaking at a recent conference to review aviation security, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang said each passenger needs to strictly abide by regulations to ensure aviation security.

He asked relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to increase coordination and strengthen supervision and inspection to prevent violations threatening aviation safety.
