Northern Bac Giang province has harvested over 201,600 tons of lychees in 2023 and earned a record VND6.87 trillion ($289 million) from lychee sales and support services, according to the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee.

Of this, lychee sales earned more than VND4.65 trillion ($196 million), up VND247 billion ($10.4 million), compared to the 2022 crop.

Bac Giang lychees have affirmed their brand and value in many countries and territories around the world, with 111,200 tons shipped abroad, making up 55.1 per cent of accumulated sales.

The province mostly exported lychees to China, which accounted for 98 per cent of total export volumes. Other markets included the US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, the EU, Thailand, the UAE, Qatar, and elsewhere in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
