Northern Bac Ninh province has surpassed Ho Chi Minh City for the second month in a row in terms of export revenue, the Cong Thuong (Industry and Trade) News has reported.
The province earned $4.27 billion in exports in October compared to Ho Chi Minh City’s $3.69 billion.
Their export value was $4.2 billion and $3.4 billion, respectively, in September.
Bac Ninh has maintained its position over the last year as a leading export earner nationwide. It earned $42.5 billion in total in 2022, up 4.5 per cent against 2021 and ranking it second in the country, behind Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietnam’s total exports in October stood at $35.25 billion, up 5.1 per cent compared to September. There were eight groups of goods posting export revenue of over $1 billion, including footwear ($1.74 billion, up 30.3 per cent); cameras, camcorders, and components (over $1 billion, up 17.3 per cent); wood and wooden products ($1.28 billion, up 12.9 per cent); machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts ($4.47 billion, up 9.9 per cent); and phones and phone accessories ($5.2 billion, up 3.3 per cent).
