Northern Bac Ninh province targets to attract $7 billion from FDI this year, the provincial People’s Committee announced at a regular meeting on July 24, the Kinh te & Do thi (Economy & Urban Affairs) online newspaper has reported.
The committee’s Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan asked relevant departments and agencies to resolutely take measures to fulfill the target, including enhancing administrative reform and investment promotion activities.
In the first six months of the year, Bac Ninh led the country in FDI attraction with $2.58 billion.
The province licensed 244 new FDI projects worth a combined $1.1 billion and approved the expansions worth $1.53 billion for 87 projects.
The province has so far attracted 2,347 FDI projects with a total registered capital of $27.67 billion.
