Northern Bac Ninh province is set to open a new electric bus route connecting Bac Ninh Bus Station to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, with a frequency of 64 trips per day.
The 32-kilometer route will travel from Bac Ninh Bus Station in Bac Ninh city through its Kinh Duong Vuong Street, Ly Thai To Street, Le Thai To Street, and Ly Anh Tong Street, and the southern intersection to National Highway 18, reaching Noi Bai International Airport.
Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Ngo Tan Phuong, has agreed in principle with the proposal by the Provincial Department of Transport to open the new Bac Ninh-Noi Bai electric bus route.
Provincial authorities believe that the operation of this electric bus route will not only meet the travel needs of the people but also promote economic and social development in both Bac Ninh and Hanoi.
Moreover, the electric bus route aligns with the Action Program on green energy transition and aims to reduce carbon and methane emissions in the transport sector, as stipulated in the Prime Minister's Decision No. 876/QD-TTg dated July 22, 2022. From 2025, all newly invested or replaced buses will utilize electricity and green energy.
Currently, the locality operates six intra-provincial bus routes, and six bus routes connecting to Hanoi, Bac Giang, and Hai Duong.
