Southern Binh Duong province targets building 172,879 social houses with a total area of 612 ha in the 2021-2030 period for low-income earners and workers, according to the provincial Department of Construction.

Total investment is estimated at over VND92.66 trillion ($3.86 billion).

The plan will help provide housing for 678,000 people.

Over 42,000 houses will be built in the 2021-2025 period with a total floor area of 2.7 million sq m. The remainder will be built in the 2026-2030 period with a total floor area of 7.4 million sq m.

Local authorities said they will mobilize businesses and investors to invest in the project.

Earlier this year, the government approved a plan to build at least 1 million social houses for low-income earners and workers at industrial parks during the 2021-2030 period.
