Binh Phuoc province is set to significantly boost its industrial capacity and improve worker welfare, under Prime Ministerial Decision No 1259/QD-TTg, issued in late October.

The decision approves adjustments to the provincial development plan, aiming to expand the total industrial zone area to 18,105 ha by 2030. This move will focus on developing industrial zones in key areas, including Dong Xoai City, Chon Thanh Town, Dong Phu District, and Hon Quan District.

Under the decision, in addition to industrial expansion, the province is allowed to prioritize the development of social housing to accommodate the growing workforce. Approximately 173 ha of land have been allocated for social housing projects, targeting industrial workers and other eligible groups.

Accordingly, the province will provide social housing for around 44,000 people by 2025, and 133,000 by 2030.
