The Can Tho-Da Lat air route will be reopened in November 2024 after a suspension of over a year. The inaugural flight is scheduled for November 11.
The first flight from Lien Khuong Airport (Da Lat City) to Can Tho Airport will depart at 11:30 am on November 11. The return flight from Can Tho Airport to Da Lat will take off at 2:15 pm the same day.
The travel time between the two airports is approximately 45 minutes, subject to weather conditions.
The reopening of the Can Tho-Da Lat route is expected to boost tourism development between the Mekong Delta and Central Highlands regions, particularly for Can Tho City and Lam Dong Province.
According to the Southern Airports Authority in Can Tho City, the end of the year is a popular time for tourists to visit Da Lat, making the resumption of the Can Tho-Da Lat route particularly timely.
Data from the General Statistics Office shows that the air transport sector in Vietnam carried an estimated 40.7 million passengers in the first nine months of 2024, a 5.9% decrease compared to the same period in 2023.
