The Mekong Delta’s Can Tho city is to conduct a review of all local industrial park planning, removing any that are inefficient and adding others that are feasible in a bid to attract more investment.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho high-speed railway line will be 174 km long and pass through six cities and provinces. The project is being accelerated, with specifications adjusted to reduce total investment to $7 billion. A pre-feasibility study report will be completed this year and submitted to the National Assembly for approval by 2024.
Can Tho city’s housing development plan for the 2021-2025 period sets a target of having more than 5.3 million sq m of new housing by 2025, with a per capita housing area of 25.5 sq m. The Mekong Delta city will set aside 2,375 ha of land and invest nearly VND49 trillion ($2.14 billion) in the plan.
The Can Tho City People’s Committee has issued a list of 23 projects calling for investment in the 2021-2025 period. Two are on the construction of infrastructure at industrial parks, on a total area of 1,400 ha.
