ChatGPT, an AI chatbot (conversation machine) capable of directly providing solutions to complex problems, has been receiving a lot of attention from internet users around the world. After just three months, the AI chatbot tool has attracted new users faster than any other application on the internet.
The AI tool was released by OpenAI. It’s not difficult to come across interesting conversations between users with ChatGPT, from math puzzles to writing poetry. The ability to create detailed and human-friendly content is what makes ChatGPT more popular than other tools.
Mr. Ngo Huu Thong, Co-founder of Uweb.vn, said ChatGPT is currently one of the smartest chatbots available. It can aggregate information from billions of data sources in almost every language in a very short period of time. Each reply is informative and for reference only. Even with in-depth questions, ChatGPT offers many valuable responses and overlaps with articles already on the internet.
GlobalData has reported on technology trends being invested in heavily during 2023. AI is estimated to have an investment value of $93 billion, up 12 per cent year-on-year. With such a large budget for AI, investors expect the field to be able to significantly accelerate and enhance other technologies such as robotics, quantum computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The explosion of ChatGPT is therefore forecast to have a major impact on the AI market in the world and in Vietnam. Vietnam is currently ranked 55th out of 181 countries and territories in terms of exploiting AI applications. The country has more than 70,000 digital and AI businesses active in all aspects of life, such as finance, industry, smart cities, healthcare, and insurance, such as Viettel, Vingroup, and FPT. These have been investing a great deal in research and development, AI in production, and providing services to businesses.
“The global AI market is valued at $93.5 billion and is forecast to post a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.1 per cent from 2022 to 2030,” said Mr. Nguyen Nam Long, Deputy General Director of the VNPT Group. “AI adoption and big data in the world and in Vietnam has become a mandatory need of organizations and businesses to reduce costs, intellectualize services, and improve the customer experience, thereby improving competitiveness”
Recognizing the popularity and effectiveness of ChatGPT, Funix - a unit of the FPT Corporation - has let more than 5,000 of its students experience the tool. “ChatGPT helps improve knowledge,” said Mr. Quach Ngoc Xuan, CTO of Funix. “With Google, knowledge is quite vast, but if students can search for more detailed information like ChatGPT, it is more effective.”
Technology companies in Vietnam, as a result, are also accelerating the development of their strategies for investing in AI. For example, FPT has integrated communications AI between humans and Bot (Conversational AI), helping to handle boring repetitive tasks. AI is a key technology of FPT, and in the next three years it will invest at least VND300 billion ($12.71 million) in AI.
