The online newspaper of Vietnam Television (vtv.vn) quoted the General Department of Vietnam Customs as reporting that Vietnam exported 80,000 tons of coffee in November worth $252 million, declines of 37.9 per cent and 17.5 per cent in value, respectively, compared to November 2022 but much higher than in October.
Figures in the previous month were 43,720 tons and $157.6 million, year-on-year falls of 48.8 per cent and 28 per cent, respectively.
In the eleven-month period of this year, total coffee exports were estimated at nearly 1.38 million tons with turnover of $3.54 billion, year-on-year declines of 12.9 per cent and 2.5 per cent, respectively.
Output in the 2023-2024 crop may be lower than in the previous crop, but export turnover could reach $4.5-5 billion given higher export prices.
