Vietnam’s construction industry has set a target of meeting people’s housing demand under its development strategy by 2030 with a vision to 2045, which has been approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
The average national housing floor area per person is expected at 27 sq m by 2025 and 30 sq m by 2030.
The industry aims to design and build modern and complex works in all fields by 2045 in order to compete and expand operations abroad.
Vietnam is expected to be among countries in ASEAN and Asia to have a high level of urbanization.
The strategy sets a target of increasing the national urbanization rate to at least 45 per cent by 2025 and more than 50 per cent by 2030. The ratio of urban construction land to total natural land area is to reach 1.5-1.9 per cent by 2025 and 1.9-2.3 per cent by 2030.
