Container cargo loading and unloading fees in some areas of Vietnam will increase by 10 per cent from February 15 under a circular on seaport services issued by the Ministry of Transport.
Fees for imported, exported, and temporarily imported for re-export containers will rise to $23-81, depending on the type of container.
However, fees at Lach Huyen Port in northern Hai Phong city and Cai Mep-Thi Vai Port in southern Ba Ria-Vung Tau province will operate under a different price framework, ranging from $57-108.
For oversized and overloaded containers, those carrying dangerous goods, or those with special loading, unloading, and preservation requirements that incur additional costs, fees will not exceed 150 per cent of the prescribed price bracket.
However, fees for domestic containers will remain at VND260,000-940,000 ($10.8-39.1), depending on the type of container.
The circular will take effect from February 15, 2024, and is applicable to Vietnamese organizations and individuals and foreign organizations and individuals using services at Vietnamese seaports.
