Cruise tourism expected to boom in 2024

Tường Bách -

A number of cruise ships visited Vietnam in the early days of the new year.

Many tourism cruises have already paid a visit to Vietnam this year, signaling a boom in cruise tourism for the country.

While the Spectrum of the Seas brought 3,500 foreign tourists to Nha Trang city in south-central Khanh Hoa province, the Celebrity Solstice arrived in Vietnam four times in December and this month, bringing over 3,000 foreign tourists to different localities.

Director General of Chan May Port in central Thua Thien-Hue province, Huynh Van Toan, said 32 cruise ships with a total of nearly 60,000 passengers have registered to dock at the port this year.

Meanwhile, 45 international cruise ships with a total of some 40,000 passengers have registered to dock at Da Nang Port in central Da Nang city.

Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said the city considers cruise tourism as a key source of tourists, and has invested in ports and services to better serve visitors.
