As part of its plan to promote wedding tourism services in the 2024-2025 period, Da Nang’s tourism sector has made public its official motto: “Da Nang - Where happiness begins”.

The central city has identified wedding tourism services as holding a significant market share in the time to come, a seminar on solutions to develop wedding tourism services in the city on December 15 heard.

“Now is the right time for us to resolve to put forward an action plan to connect the business community, to develop the service ecosystem, and create a brand that Da Nang deserve to have - a destination for weddings,” Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center Nguyen Thi Hoai An told the seminar.

Seminar participants, both domestic and foreign, agreed that in the past five years wedding tourism services have been adopted as part of development strategies in many countries in Asia, especially in Southeast Asia, thanks to advantages in natural beauty, tropical climate, unique cultural features, and competitive cost.

A representative from the city’s tourism sector said Da Nang sees the potential in these services not only thanks to growth in the segment in Southeast Asia but also thanks to increased interest from Indian customers. India is among countries well-known for its luxurious tourism weddings, with a market value of $45 billion in 2022 and an expected $100 billion in 2025.

Da Nang and neighboring localities have been a destination for many Indian couples over the past two years, hosting 20 weddings. These localities expect to host six Indian weddings in the first two months of 2024.
