From October 3–4,
A delegation of Vietnam's central Da Nang City, led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Dung, Chairman of its People’s Council, paid a working visit to Amsterdam (Netherlands) from October 3-4, focusing on an investment promotion program with Dutch partners.
The delegation held a working session with the Amsterdam Smart City Project Management Agency (the Management Agency) to learn about the smart city model.
Ms. Dagmar Keim, Director of the Management Agency, shared with the delegation experiences in developing smart city projects, especially in addressing urban challenges such as housing, energy, flooding, and climate change. She also exchanged experiences in public–private partnership models for smart city development and public sector capacity building.
Similarly, Mr. Dung also introduced several directions and potential areas of cooperation from Da Nang city in promoting science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and smart city development.
“Da Nang city hopes to continue receiving valuable insights, experience, and consultancy from Amsterdam in the coming time to build a modern, distinctive, and livable smart city,” Mr. Dung emphasized.
In addition, during a meeting with Netherlands Airport Consultants (NACO) - a Netherland’s company with extensive global experience in airport planning and long-term cooperation in Vietnam, Mr. Tran Nam Hung, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, also shared information about the investment and upgrade project of Chu Lai International Airport in Da Nang.
Da Nang city hopes that NACO would provide consultancy for green, smart, energy-efficient, and sustainable airport design solutions that meet international standards, Mr. Hung said, adding that the central city of Vietnam encourages NACO to help connect international investors for airport investment and operation sector in Da Nang city.
Moreover, the delegation also held a meeting with Royal Bokalis Westminster N.V. , asking the later to study and explore cooperation opportunities in Da Nang in the coming time.
