The National Data Association expects to cooperate with Da Nang city in central Vietnam to pilot a "Data City" model, making it the first in the country.
During a recent working session with the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center, Mr. Dao Duc Trieu, General Secretary of the National Data Association, proposed to partner with Da Nang as the first pilot location to deploy this model, aiming to develop Da Nang into the first 'Data City' nationwide, as the Association already has the foundational technology.
According to Mr. Trieu, the Association's role extends beyond just consulting on data policies and laws; it also aims to create data management products and build a sufficiently large data industry to become a driving force for national development.
The Association proposed building a national data model and data cities based on important data pillars such as tourism, logistics, healthcare, finance, public administration, education, etc., with a development orientation tailored to each locality's strengths.
He expressed a desire to enhance cooperation in the data sector, focusing on protecting personal data, building mechanisms for users to withdraw consent, and simultaneously promoting the formation of a data market and the development of the data industry.
Additionally, the National Data Association also plans to establish a large incubator in Da Nang and implement numerous workshops and events to create a favorable environment for the startup community to leverage data value and develop highly applicable products and services.
Deputy Director of the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center Vo Duc Anh said that the city has always been a pioneer in testing new technologies. Currently, Da Nang has a sandbox mechanism for startups, while its financial center is under construction.
