Central Da Nang city has been honored as an excellent city in smart urban construction and development for the fourth time at the Vietnam Smart City Awards 2023.

It is among cities to have opened an Intelligence Operation Center and other smart urban services, focusing on transport management, smart healthcare, and smart education.

The city was recognized for its environmental monitoring system, with over 70 smart cameras, which not only helps monitor the environment but also allows local citizens to report environmental incidents. Together with the city’s 66 automated environmental monitoring stations and 15 automated wastewater sample testing systems, it has helped tackle many environmental pollution issues, according to Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thach.

The Vietnam Smart City Awards 2023 was launched on July 20, covering three categories: smart cities, smart real estate projects, and digital solutions for smart cities.

Initiated by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) in 2020, the annual awards aim to honor cities and provinces, real estate developers, and technology firms for their contributions to building smart and sustainable cities in Vietnam.
