VIetnam digital economy's contribution to GDP is estimated to reach 18.3% in 2024, with a growth rate exceeding 20% per year, three times higher than the GDP growth rate, and the fastest in Southeast Asia, according to a report presented at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on February 6.

Data presented at the meeting showed that retail e-commerce in Vietnam achieved a revenue of $25 billion in 2024, an increase of about 20%. Vietnam is among the top 10 countries with the fastest e-commerce growth in the world. The annual growth rate of cashless payments increased by more than 50%, leading Southeast Asia.

Regarding digital society, for the first time, the access rate to "Make in Vietnam" digital platforms compared to foreign digital platforms exceeded 20%, reaching 25.25%, an increase of 5.62% compared to 2023. With this result, Vietnam becomes one of the few countries with a high number of domestic digital platform users.

Many domestic digital platforms in the fields of banking, social networks, television, media... are increasingly favored and chosen by users as replacements for foreign digital platforms.
