Gold prices in Vietnam continued their record-breaking rally on August 25, with SJC-branded gold bars reaching nearly VND127 million ($4,828) per tael.
The price was up VND300,000 ($11.4) from the previous trading session.
One tael equals 37.5 grams, or 1.2 ounces.
Gold rings also surged to a historic high of VND121.3 million ($4,612) per tael, marking a VND300,000 increase day-on-day.
In contrast, global gold prices edged down 0.2% to $3,366.2 per ounce on August 25 after a 1% gain in the previous session. At current rates, domestic prices remain about VND18.33 million ($696) per tael higher than international levels.
