Southern Dong Nai province targets to gain an average annual GRDP growth of 10% in the 2021-2030 period, under a master plan that has been approved by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha.
The average GRDP per capita is expected to reach $14,650 by 2030, according to the master plan.
Under the master plan for 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the province will strive to become a modern locality with high growth rate and dynamic economic development.
It targets to take the lead in aviation economy, high-tech industry, science and technology and innovation.
The province will focus on developing three spearhead industries, including aviation; semiconductor, chip and AI; and automatic and information technology equipment and device.
Dong Nai is home to the projected Long Thanh international airport which is expected to become Vietnam's largest international airport upon completion.
By 2050, the province is expected to take the lead in high technology development and become an international trade exchange center.
Regarding key tasks, the province targets to effectively exploit the Long Thanh International Airport, expand Bien Hoa Airport into a dual-use facility, complete road infrastructure, build green industrial parks and develop innovation and high technology centers.
