The Hue Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Enterprise Support (Hue IPBSA) of Hue city in central Vietnam and the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) of South Korea have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking a new milestone in urban infrastructure development aligned with green space conservation.
Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate across several key areas, including sustainable urban development, modern infrastructure, environmentally friendly industries, and the promotion of trade, investment, science and technology, culture, tourism, and high-tech agriculture, along with other sustainable development initiatives.
The cooperation will be implemented through activities such as sharing master planning information, conducting feasibility studies, exchanging legal and investment-related information, and promoting Hue’s investment environment to the South Korean business community.
The collaboration not only focuses on economic growth but also emphasizes the preservation of Hue’s unique cultural and historical identity. It reflects a shared vision of building a creative and sustainable urban area that harmonizes modern infrastructure with green space conservation.
Mr. Bokhwan Kim from the KIND noted that the corporation has extensive experience in promoting investment activities in Vietnam, particularly in supporting South Korean enterprises investing abroad through public-private partnership (PPP) projects in infrastructure development, including capital support, policy assistance, and project financing.
At the signing ceremony on August 12, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, said “Hue has engaged in various cooperation programs with South Korean businesses, but this is the first time Hue IPBSA has signed directly with the KIND in the field of infrastructure investment.”
