E-commerce consumers protected from fake products

Vietnam targets having 100 per cent of major e-commerce trading floors commit to not trade in fake goods, to protect consumers’ interests following a recently-approved master plan on anti-counterfeiting and consumer protection in e-commerce to 2025.

Under the plan, all organizations and individuals trading on e-commerce floors are updated with regulations on e-commerce and products they trade.

It also targets informing all customers about related regulations, to protect their interests.

In order to reach these goals, the plan sets out tasks to complete policies and regulations to inspect and handle violations in product quality and standards in e-commerce activities, perfect the national standards system on product quality, promote the application of codes and barcodes, and trace the origin of products and goods.

Developing infrastructure and technology and building a data network on anti-counterfeiting and consumer protection to effectively manage e-commerce activities will also be carried out.
