Eight expressways to be listed as key national projects

The Ministry of Transport has proposed that the government add eight expressways to the list of key national projects.

These include the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang, Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan, Dau Giay - Tan Phu, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh, My An - Cao Lanh and Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressways.

The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway is 104.5 km long and connects the northern mountainous provinces of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang. It is part of master planning for the road transport network in the 2021-2030 period with a vision towards 2050.

The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan section of the Eastern North-South Expressway is 11.5 km long and entirely within central Da Nang city’s Hoa Vang district. It will be built at an estimated cost of VND2.1 trillion ($87 million).

The Dau Giay - Tan Phu, Tan Phu - Bao Loc, and Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressways run through southern Dong Nai province and the central highlands’ Lam Dong province.

The Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway connects the southern city with southern Binh Phuoc province and the central highlands region. It has a total length of 70 km and investment of an estimated VND36 trillion ($1.5 billion).

The My An - Cao Lanh and Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressways connect Mekong Delta localities with the Eastern North-South expressway. The Cal Lanh - An Huu Expressway, which is 27 km long, will pass through Dong Thap and Tien Giang provinces. Construction began in June and is estimated to cost VND5.88 trillion ($245 million). The My An - Cao Lanh Expressway, running through Dong Thap province, has total investment of over VND4.77 trillion ($198 million).
