Under the theme “Investment Cooperation Towards a Sustainable Future,” the forum is to take place in Hanoi on March 24.

Approximately 500 delegates and experts, including representatives from the European Union, Vietnamese government agencies, leading European and Vietnamese corporations, and international financial institutions, are expected to attend the EU-Vietnam Business and Investment Forum – Global Gateway Strategy.

Scheduled to take place in Hanoi on March 24, the forum is co-organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of Finance, and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).

Under the theme “Investment Cooperation Towards a Sustainable Future,” the forum serves as a bridge to realize efforts in strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the EU and Vietnam. This comes as the bilateral relationship has recently been upgraded to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The event will notably feature the participation of the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Mr. Jozef Síkela, as part of his official visit to Vietnam, alongside Ms. Nicola Beer, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Discussions will focus on key sectors which serve as "leverages" for Vietnam’s sustainable development, including: sustainable transport, energy transition, infrastructure connectivity, the green-digital twin transition, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards in investment and business operations.

Commenting on the upcoming event,  Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam, H.E. Julien Guerrier, affirmed that the Global Gateway Strategy is a testament to the EU’s commitment to building sustainable partnerships worldwide.

“In Vietnam, our priority is to support the green and digital transitions while fostering connectivity and innovation. This synergy not only brings bilateral economic benefits but also contributes to long-term sustainable growth goals,” he said.

The forum also aims to serve as a platform to remove regulatory barriers and promote practical cooperation between business communities. Specifically, the event will support Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in accessing potential international investors and partners.

By tightening cooperation, the forum is expected to unlock capital flows, promote technology transfer, and support the training of high-quality human resources.
