The Vietnam Sport Economic Forum 2024, held on October 17, brought together specialists, managers, and domestic and foreign businesses to discuss the management and development of the sports economy in Vietnam.
In its second edition, the forum focused on key issues within the sports industry, including the relationship between State management agencies, national sports associations, and organizers; the economic impact of hosting major sports events; and the commercialization of sports competitions.
The forum included panel discussions on creating a favorable legal environment for sports economic development, evaluating current legal frameworks, and proposing solutions to stimulate sports activities and maximize non-state sector contributions.
Another panel focused on the economic impact of hosting major sporting events, discussing the growing global interest in such events and the strategies for maximizing benefits while minimizing risks.
A third panel explored the commercial value and benefits surrounding sporting events, including fan participation and consumption, broadcasting rights, and lessons learned from the Champions League.
The organizers anticipate that the forum's discussions will inform the development of policies and strategies for Vietnam's sports economy. The insights gained will also be valuable for sector management and empower businesses to actively participate in the market.
Ultimately, the forum aims to contribute to the development of a professional, modern, and sustainable sports industry in Vietnam.
