Garment and textile exports earn $17.8 bln in 5M

Vietnam’s exports of garment and textile products in the first five months of 2025 earned $17.8 billion, increasing 10% compared to the same period last year, according to the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).

In May alone, the export revenue reached $3.84 billion, up 6% year-on-year, and marking a historic record high of May.

Vietnamese garment and textile products have been exported to 132 markets around the world. The US remains the biggest importer in the five-month period with revenue of $6.97 billion, up 17%. It was followed by the EU with $1.86 billion, surging 15%; Japan $1.83 billion, 11%; ASEAN $1.33 billion, 7% and Canada $464 million, 1.5%.

The sector targets an export turnover of $47 billion in 2025.
