Vietnam’s textile and garment sector has recorded positive results this year despite the numerous market difficulties.

The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has estimated 2022 consolidated revenue at over VND19.53 trillion ($826.84 million), a 15 per cent increase year-on-year and 8 per cent higher than the target, and consolidated profit at more than VND1 trillion ($42 million), or 14.6 per cent higher than the target.

Analysts, however, have warned that the difficulties facing the sector will remain in the first half of 2023 due to the US Fed’s interest rate policy, the Russia - Ukraine conflict, China’s Zero-Covid policy, and an unfavorable business environment from supply chain disruptions, rising logistics costs, and global inflation.
