Gold prices in Vietnam continued to increase on February 25, narrowing the gap between the domestic and global prices.
The SJC-branded gold bars were sold at VND92.3 million ($3,595) per tael on the day, up VND300,000 ($11.6) compared to the previous day.
One tael equals 37.5 grams, or 1.2 ounces.
In the global market, the gold prices reduced to $2,942.7 an ounce on the same day, or nearly VND92.02 million per tael.
At this level, gold price in Vietnam is higher than the global price around VND280,000 ($10.9) a tael.
The selling prices of ring gold in the domestic market kept increasing, reaching VND92.1 million ($3,587) per tael, surging VND300,000 ($11.6) against the previous day.
