Google has pledged a $1.5 million grant for Fulbright University Vietnam to advance artificial intelligence (AI) research and education.

The financial package was announced by Dr. Jeff Dean - chief scientist at Google at a working session with the university on August 19.

The grant will help Fulbright University Vietnam integrate AI into all academic programs, develop AI-related majors and minors in its undergraduate curriculum, and equip students with AI application skills.

It will also support the university in recruiting additional AI experts to expand teaching, enhance AI-related research by faculties and students, and foster collaborative initiatives with academic and industry partners in Vietnam and internationally.

Google has coordinated with the National Innovation Center (NIC) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment to launch two initiatives to promote development of human resources and startup ecosystem to serve AI development in Vietnam.
