Under Prime Ministerial Decision No.1751/QD-TTg, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung on August 18,  a national data strategy at the national data center has been approved, aiming at developing and expanding a comprehensive database system to foster innovation and strengthen international data cooperation.

Under the strategy, by 2030, all national and sectoral databases will be integrated into a unified platform, enabling seamless data aggregation, interoperability among ministries and localities, and connectivity with domestic and global information systems.

Additionally, at least 90% of eligible administrative procedures will be conducted online. Citizens and businesses will no longer be required to resubmit information or documents already accepted in previous administrative processes.

The strategy also mandates that all national-level online public services be centralized on the National Public Service Portal, located at the National Data Centre, creating a “one-stop shop” for e-government.

Authorities aim for near-universal adoption of digital services, with at least 90% of users authenticated through a unified electronic identification system spanning both central and local platforms.

To achieve its targets, the national data strategy outlines a roadmap through 2025, focusing on finalizing the legal framework, developing core digital platforms, and investing in inter-regional data transmission infrastructure with top-tier security standards.

Looking ahead to 2030, the strategy also includes the launch of National Data Centres No. 2 and No. 3, along with other initiatives to further strengthen Vietnam’s digital infrastructure and data management capacity.
