Northern Ha Nam province welcomed approximately 4.2 million tourists in the first nine months of the year with a total tourism revenue of over VND3.2 trillion ($126 million), according to Ms. Le Thi Thuy, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.
Addressing a conference held on October 18 to promote investment in tourism development, Ms. Thuy said the nine-month figure exceeded that of the whole 2023.
In 2023, the province served over 4 million visitors and posted a tourism revenue of over VND3 trillion ($118 million).
She stressed that with favorable transport system as well as diversified natural resources, Ha Nam has many advantages to develop different forms of tourism such as ecotourism, golf tourism, cultural tourism and rural tourism.
In September, Ha Nam was recognized as Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination 2024 by the 31st World Travel Awards (WTA).
Earlier, in 2023, Ha Nam surpassed many renowned global destinations to be honored as the “World's Leading Regional Cultural Destination” voted by the WTA.
