The Management Board of the Ha Tinh Provincial Economic Zone has recently approved the investment policy and designated the investor for the VKD Vung Ang 2 Pharmaceutical and Supporting Products Manufacturing Complex Project in Hoanh Son Ward of the central province.
Invested by VKD Vung Ang 2 JSC, the project covers an area of approximately 44,000 sq.m with a total investment capital exceeding VND326 billion ($12.54 million).
Under the project plan, the developer will build a production complex for herbal ingredients, pharmaceuticals, topical medicines, cosmetics, functional foods, and bottled/canned beverages. In addition, the project will establish a research and testing center as well as a high-tech extraction and raw material center, focusing on developing medical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic products derived from Ngoc Linh ginseng and various medicinal herbs.
In terms of production capacity, the complex is designed to produce annually around 7 million herbal extract and pharmaceutical products, 2 million topical medicine and cosmetic products, 7 million dietary supplement units, and roughly 30 million bottled or canned drinks.
It will also develop a warehouse and factory network spanning roughly 10,500 to 15,000 sq.m, offering testing services for pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
The project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 involves constructing finished-product manufacturing plants, the research and testing center, the high-tech extraction and raw materials facility, administrative offices, and supporting technical infrastructure. This phase is slated for completion within 18 months from the official land lease and handover date.
Phase 2 involves investing in GSP-standard warehouses combined with manufacturing workshops, scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2030.
