Ha Tinh to establish a more than $1.5 - billion logistics center

The center is envisioned to become a logistics hub connected to the Vung Ang Economic Zone and the Vung Ang - Son Duong seaport system.

Central Ha Tinh province's  Management Board of Ha Tinh Economic Zone  has recently approved the investment policy and investor for the Son Duong Port Logistics and Post-Port Services Center Project. The project, located in the Son Duong post-port area, part of the Vung Ang Economic Zone,  boasts a total investment of VND39,600 billion (more than $1.5 billion) and covers an area of over 472 hectares, aiming for a throughput capacity of approximately 50 million tons of goods annually.

According to Decision No. 231/QD-KKT by the Management Board of Ha Tinh Economic Zone, the project will be executed by Vinhomes Ha Tinh Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Hanoi.

The center is envisioned to become a logistics hub connected to the Vung Ang Economic Zone and the Vung Ang - Son Duong seaport system. Key components include general warehouses, container yards, general cargo yards, commercial and port logistics service areas, management and operation zones, parking lots, along with a comprehensive transportation and technical infrastructure system.

Upon completion, the project is expected to  provide services such as storage, preservation, classification, consolidation, packaging, distribution, and transshipment of goods, as well as warehouse and service area exploitation.

The project is planned to be implemented in three phases. From 2027 to 2030, the focus will be on constructing protective embankments, land reclamation, ground leveling, and framework technical infrastructure across the entire project area. From 2031 to 2033, approximately 200 hectares of warehouses and commercial-port logistics service areas will be developed. From 2034 onwards, the remaining components will be completed, with the goal of fully operationalizing the center by 2036.

With its substantial investment scale, the Son Duong Port Logistics and Post-Port Services Center is expected to contribute to the completion of logistics infrastructure, enhance the flow of goods, and strengthen the connection between the seaport system and production and business activities in the Vung Ang Economic Zone.
