Northern Hai Duong province attracted nearly $210 million in FDI in the first five months of this year, a six-fold surge compared to the same period of 2022, according to provincial authorities.
The province licensed 27 new FDI projects in the period with total registered capital of over $152.5 million. New projects were mainly from China, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), South Korea, and Germany.
Hai Duong focuses its FDI attraction on such fields as information technology, electronics, manufacturing and processing, support industries, Industry 4.0, and green industry.
The province has set a target of attracting $410 million in FDI this year, with foreign enterprises expected to generate revenue of $7 billion.
Hai Duong currently has 496 FDI projects from 26 countries and territories with total registered capital of $9.2 billion. The province ranks fourth in the Red River Delta and eleventh in the country in terms of FDI attraction.
